Welcome to The Luminary...

The Luminary is the online post-graduate journal, from Lancaster University's Department of English and Creative Writing. Our aim is to provide a forum through which post-graduates, from any institution, can share their current research, make connections with other post-graduates and gain publications.

Our next Call For Papers is now available. We are seeking articles for our Summer issue entitled 'Textual Bodies'. Please click here for more information.

Although this journal is linked to the Department of English and Creative Writing, we aren't limited to publishing papers within those disciplines. We welcome submissions from language studies, linguistics, cultural studies, film studies, inter-disciplinary research students... in fact, whatever discipline you're working within, we'd love you to submit your paper. Each semester we'll be looking for submissions based on a new theme, and we'll be looking to publish a wide variety of papers on a diverse range topics, texts and theoretical perspectives.

Our current issue features papers written by the students of the 2008-2009 Lancaster Postgraduate community, for our annual conference, held last June. The conference title, 'Intersections', encouraged a truly wide range of approaches. We've published just a small selection of these for you in our first issue, also called 'Intersections'.

For future issues, we'd like to encourage post-graduate students from any institution to submit a paper, as one of our aims is to make links between post-graduate communities from across departments and disciplines. To find out more about how to sumbit a paper, please visit our 'submissions' page. If you'd like to contact us with any questions, then feel free to email us at: enquiries@lancasterluminary.com.

We hope you enjoy our first issue!
